Zionist troops stormed al-Aqsa Mosque for the third time since the beginning of Ramadan early on Monday, clearing worshippers from courtyards to allow settlers to enter the occupied East Al-Quds holy site and hold prayers.
The Palestinian news agency Wafa said large numbers of officers had entered the area and snipers had been positioned on the roofs of the mosque and adjacent buildings.
Large numbers of settlers spread across the courtyards and were observed praying by Wafa’s correspondent.
The correspondent said Zionist troops had fired rubber-coated metal bullets and obstructed the work of medics and the press crews inside the courtyards, as well as assaulting women in the vicinity of the Dome of the Rock.
In a show of support for those facing intensified Zionist violence, people across various parts of the occupied territories took to the streets to protest Zionist troops’ attacks on worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holiest site.
Clashes erupted between demonstrators and Zionist troops in the city of Nazareth on Sunday night as participants denounced the Tel Aviv regime’s actions in al-Quds, its illegal and provocative measures, and its disregard for the historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Confrontations also broke out in the Jabal Mukaber area between regime troops and young protesters, but no injuries were reported.
Additionally, a young man was struck with live bullets and wounded during confrontations with Zionist troops in the center of the southern West Bank city of Al-Khalil.
Meanwhile, the Zionist regime’s military reinforced its so-called Iron Dome missile system near the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to the Israeli regime’s public broadcaster Kan, the reinforcement comes amid fears that Palestinian resistance groups based in the impoverished coastal enclave would launch barrages of rockets in retaliation against the recent wave of aggression against worshipers at the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Meanwhile, an Arab party has frozen its participation in the regime’s ruling coalition, protesting indiscriminate violence by the regime’s forces against Palestinian worshippers in the holy occupied city of al-Quds.
The United Arab List (UAL) took the move after Zionist troops stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The UAL said it was “suspending” its support for prime minister Naftali Bennett’s coalition as well as the party’s parliamentary activities.
The party, which has four seats in Bennett’s coalition, meanwhile, warned that if the regime “continues its steps against the people” in Al-Quds it will “resign as a bloc.”
With 60 seats in the 120-seat the regime’s parliament, Bennett’s coalition is already teetering on the edge.
