Israeli war cabinet on brink of collapse

Israeli war cabinet members are facing unprecedented division and internal protests, which could lead to the cabinet’s collapse, according to Israeli media.

Israeli sources reported on Saturday that the members of the Israeli war cabinet were deeply divided and could not reach an agreement, not even on small issues.

The sources emphasized that the possibility of the war cabinet collapsing was more likely than ever.

The Israeli war cabinet was formed on 11 October 2023, four days after the beginning of Operation al-Aqsa Storm. The three war cabinet members are prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, war minister Yoav Gallant, and Gantz. Ministers Ron Dermer and Gadi Eisenkot serve as observers, although it seems that they are full participants in all discussions held in the war cabinet.

The Zionist media has reported that a large portion of Israeli society is angry by the lack of prospects for victory in Gaza.

The divisions in Israel extend beyond the war cabinet, as members of Israel’s negotiating team also have significant differences and are strongly divided on the idea of “ending the war” and the release of Hamas prisoners.

Additionally, the families of Israeli forces in Gaza have called for an end to the war in Gaza and have urged against an invasion of Rafah, describing it as “a trap for their children.”

Israel waged a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance group carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there
