ISIL threatens to attack Champions League quarter finals

The ISIL terrorist group launched a threat against the four stadiums that will host the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

A concerning development in the lead-up to this week’s round of Champions League quarter-finals has on Monday night been confirmed.

ISIL has made public the threat of terrorist attacks on all four of the European fixtures.

Spanish outlet Marca, citing direct sources at the club, has revealed that the alleged threat from the ISIL on the Champions League matches has already been received by the security forces and transferred to Real Madrid.

European football’s most high-profile competition will of course be kicked back into gear on Tuesday night, before continuing into Wednesday.

Meetings have been penciled in between all of Real Madrid and Manchester City, Arsenal and Bayern Munich, Atlético Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, and Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

Marca reiterated that ‘there is no reason for alarm’, but that any and all individuals planning to attend the Champions League’s quarter-finals should be ‘attentive and redouble their vigilance’.
