IRGC Vows Avenge for Martyrdom of Advisors in Israeli Attack in Syria

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) vowed to take revenge from Israel for the killing of its military advisors in a missile attack near Damascus.

“Undoubtedly, the Zionist regime will pay the price of this atrocity,” said a statement issued by the IRGC’s Public Relations Office on Tuesday.

It named the two martyrs as Colonel Ehsan Karbalayipour and Colonel Morteza Saeednejad, who were martyred following a missile attack by the Israeli regime on the outskirts of the Syrian capital on Monday.

Iran maintains an advisory mission in the Arab country, helping it in the face of foreign-backed terrorism. Back in 2017, the advisory assistance helped Syria defeat the Takfiri terrorist group of the ISIL.

Israel has been a key supporter of terrorist groups that have opposed the government of President Bashar al-Assad since foreign-backed militancy erupted in Syria in March 2011.

The Israeli regime keeps a significant military presence in Syria’s Golan Heights, which it uses as one of its launchpads for attacks against the Syrian soil.

The Tel Aviv regime mostly keeps quiet about its attacks on Syrian territory, which many view as a knee-jerk reaction to the Syrian government’s increasing success in confronting terrorism.

Iran has warned that it will not hesitate to give a crushing response to any threat against its security.

IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami warned Israel not to shorten its life by making a wrong and aggressive move against Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is waiting a wrong move by Zionist regime to destroy it completely, General Salami said.
