Iran’s President Hails Quds Day as Symbol of Muslim Unity

Lauding the rallies held across the world in commemoration of the International Quds Day as the symbol of Muslims’ solidarity with Palestine, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said the signs of collapse of the Zionist regime have become clear.

President Raisi attended demonstrations in Tehran on Friday to mark the International Quds Day, describing the rallies as the symbol of Muslim unity, expression of solidarity with the Palestinian nation, and support for the cause of liberation of al-Quds.

“The liberation of holy al-Quds is so close,” he noted, pointing to the clear signals of downfall of the Zionist regime that will happen soon.

He also warned the Israeli regime that normalization of ties with the regional governments could by no means ensure its security.

The demonstration held around the world on the International Quds Day serve as a support for the people of Palestine and Lebanon and the resistance forces, Raisi underlined.

Millions of fasting Iranian people from different walks of life poured into the streets on Friday to join the demonstrations in support of Palestinians, who have been suffering from Israel’s atrocities for decades.

Each year, the International Quds Day is celebrated on the last Friday of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

The event’s raison d’être is renewing support for the Palestinians and denunciation of Israel.

The day is also seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
