Freestyler Zare Takes Gold at World Wrestling Championships

Amir Hussein Zare of Iran won a gold medal at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships Sunday night.
The freestyler defeated Geno Petriashvili of Georgia 11-0 in the final bout of 125kg in Belgrade, Serbia.
Taha Akgül of Turkey and American Mason Parris claimed the bronze medals.
Taylor Defeats Hassan Yazdani
American wrestler David Taylor defeated Hassan Yazdani of Iran 9-3 in the final bout of the event on Sunday.
Yazdani has lost to Taylor four times and defeated him once.
The bronze medals were won by Myles Amine from San Marino and Kazakhstan’s Azamat Dauletbekov.
Earlier in the day, Amir Muhammad Yazdani had won a silver medal after losing to American wrestler Zain Retherford 8-5 in the final bout of 70kg.
He lost to American wrestler Zain Retherford 8-5 in the final bout in Belgrade, Serbia.
Retherford had won a silver medal in the previous edition in Belgrade after losing to Japanese wrestler Taishi Narikuni 10-0.
Bulgarian Ramazan Ramazanov and Armenia’s Arman Andreasyan claimed two bronze medals.
