Envoy urges expanding scientific ties between Tehran, Riyadh

 Saudi Arabian ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Abdullah bin Saud al-Anzi has stressed boosting scientific and technological relations between Tehran and Riyadh.

Al-Anzi visited Iran’s House of Innovation and Technology (iHiT) and held talks with Amir-Hossein Mirabadi, the caretaker of the Center for International Science and Technology Interactions, on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the Saudi envoy emphasized increasing the level of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of science and technology.

The two sides decided to determine priority areas and defined joint programs based on these priorities in technology development and knowledge-based economic projects.

Also, they emphasized introducing the mirror agency of Iran’s Department of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy in Saudi Arabia for starting the interactions.

Exchanging high-level delegations in the field of science and technology, not limiting ties to political interactions, understandings and agreements in advancing programs plus attending technological events of the two countries were other discussed issues in the joint meeting.

Announcing readiness to attend the technological event in Saudi Arabia, Mirabadi invited the Saudi side to attend the INOTEX event in Iran.
