Enemy Admits Failure of Maximum Pressure on Iran: President

Highlighting the accelerated rate of Iran’s economic and scientific progress, President Ebrahim Raisi said the enemy has admitted that the sanctions and maximum pressures against the Islamic Republic have ended in failure.

In remarks after inaugurating six thermal power stations in Zanjan Province on Thursday, Raisi said the enemies have realized that their sanctions could not hinder the Iranian people’s progress and development, so they tried to create other obstacles.

The enemy has realized that its threats have been futile and has formally admitted that the policy of maximum pressures on Iran has gone nowhere, he added, pointing to the failure of hostile plans to block the sale of Iranian oil.

Highlighting Iran’s progress in the oil and gas industry under the pressure of sanctions, Raisi said, “The enemy sought to isolate Iran, but our (new) relations with the world countries were established and those already established improved.”

Raisi said his administration has managed to increase foreign trade by 40 percent during the first year in office.

“They (enemies) wanted to restrict our monetary and financial situation with sanctions, but failed to do so. When all of their plots failed, they opted to foment riots in the country to prevent its progress and production,” he added.

Describing Iran as a major power in science and technology in the region and the world, the president warned of hostile attempts to obstruct the country’s development in various fields.

In an address to the 6th CICA summit in Astana on October 13, Raisi said as the US’ policy of sanctions and maximum pressures on Iran has ended in dismal failure and its military strategies have proved futile as well, Washington and its allies have resorted to the failed policy of destabilization in Iran.
