Targetted Israeli Killing of Prominent Christian Journalist

Another prominent journalist has been killed by another US client regime, and except for the usual protests nothing more will happen and no condemnation of the murderous-state, let alone penalties and punishment for it.
As a matter of fact, the US will not express any official disapproval of the latest deliberate killing of a journalist, although a naturalized American citizen and also a Christian, unlike its mild denunciation at the sawing alive in Istanbul, Turkey, of Washington Post columnist, Jamal Khashogchi in 2018 by its errant blue-eyed boy MBS (Mohamed bin Salman) of Saudi Arabia who needed a friendly rap, because this time the victim is a Palestinian, and the perpetrator of the terrorist act is the tail that wags the dog.
Shireen Abu Aqleh, who while covering the brutal attack of the Zionist armed forces on the refugee camp in Jenin in the West Bank on Wednesday, was targeted by an Israeli army sharpshooter at the vulnerable spot of the temple just below the protective helmet she was wearing, complete with the journalist’s blue vest with the letters PRESS written bold on her front and back, was for long in the regime’s crosshairs.
The 51-year old Palestinian Christian lady of virtually besieged Bethlehem (said to be the birthplace of Jesus) was a veteran journalist working for Qatar’s Al-Jazeera TV for the last 25 years, and known for her excellent transmission to the outside world of events in her Israeli-occupied homeland.
She died on the spot in the latest attack of the illegal Zionist entity on freedom of the press and violation of international law, weeks after her recounting her journey as a journalist in a video marking the 25th anniversary of Al-Jazeera’s founding.
Qatar has strongly denounced her targeted-killing and demanded end of Israel’s terrorism. The Islamic Republic and the press community in Iran have also condemned her killing as a terrorist act and expressed condolences to her family.
All Palestinian groups, irrespective of their political divisions, have paid glowing tributes to her and called on the UN to bring the killer regime to justice.
People around the world, including governments and people’s movements, have deplored her murder, but surprisingly the pro-Zionist regimes of the Persian Gulf instead of denouncing Israel for its crimes, are reflecting official statements from Tel Aviv that Abu Aqleh might be a victim of indiscriminate firing, which is a preposterous lie in view of the fact that she never was reckless while covering events of the Intefadha.
It is to be noted that in a recent interview, Abu Aqleh said she was often afraid while reporting but made sure to avoid unnecessary risk.
“I don’t throw myself at death,” she told an outlet in the West Bank city of Nablus. “I search for a safe place to stand and how to protect my crew before worrying about the footage.”
Thus, it is the duty of the free world to denounce the illegal Zionist entity, especially in view of the fact that the Christian families who have lived in Bethlehem for centuries are being forced to leave as land in their city is seized, and homes bulldozed, for construction of thousands of homes for Israeli settlers.
Land seizures for Zionist settlements have also prevented construction of a new hospital for the inhabitants of Bethlehem, as well as the barrier separating dozens of Palestinian families from their farmland and Christian communities from their places of worship.
