Report: Zionist Drones Attack Iranian Fuel for Lebanon

Two fuel trucks were destroyed in an Israeli drone strike on the Syrian side of the border with Iraq late on Tuesday, Iraqi security and border officials and Iranian sources said.
The strike was carried out by a drone and targeted a tanker truck convoy carrying Iranian fuel that had entered Qaim border crossing into Syria, the officials said.
“No Iraqi casualties have been reported”, said an Iraqi border police officer.
Huge blaze was seen on the Syrian side of the border, said a security official. The convoy included more than 20 tanker trucks.
The convoy crossed the borders into Syria after obtaining “all necessary legal approvals from Iraq” and according to the transportation documents the Iranian fuel was heading to Lebanon through Syria, said two border police officials.
The officials were unaware of any Iranian casualties. The U.S. military said on Wednesday it was not behind the strike, nor had any involvement.
A regional official said two Syrian nationals were killed in the strike and the fuel was heading to Syria, not Lebanon.
For several years, the occupying regime of Israel has been mounting attacks on Syria, with many observers deeming it as a knee-jerk attempt to shore up takfiri terrorists. The Zionist regime rarely acknowledges or discusses such operations.
An IRIB correspondent said an “Israeli drone” targeted two of the tankers in the incident, after eight tankers had crossed the Qaim border into Syria.
Iraqi sources said at least four explosions rocked the border crossing. Warplanes and helicopters could be heard flying over the region.
Some local sources said the attack was a drone strike targeting resistance forces in the area.
Iran has supplied fuel shipments to Lebanon via Syria since last year after the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah asked for Iranian help to ease the energy shortage in the country.
Lebanon has been beset by a severe fuel crisis that has left many households and businesses struggling with recurrent power outages.
