Qatar to develop joint gas field with Iran

Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Tuesday morning laid the foundation stone of the North Field Expansion Project.

In a post on his social media platform X account, the Emir of Qatar said that today the foundation stone for the North Field Expansion Project is laid, which falls within Qatar’s strategy towards strengthening its position as a global LNG producer and enhancing its pioneering role in meeting the energy need of the global market, wishing Qatar Energy and its partners success in this project, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

This joint gas field in Iran is known as “South Pars”, which is the largest natural gas field in the world and has 50.97 trillion cubic meters of gas and approximately 7.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas condensate.
