Gaza’s Heath Ministry said on Monday, the total death toll in Israel’s war on Gaza rose to 21,978, with 57,697 people also injured.
In the past 24 hours alone, at least 156 people were killed and 246 others injured in 13 Israeli attacks, Gaza’s Health Ministry Spokesperson Ashraf Al-Qudra said at a press conference, Al-Jazeera reported.
The total death toll includes 326 health staff, he said.
The Israeli forces destroyed and put out of service 104 ambulances and 30 hospitals. About 99 health personnel are held under arrest “in inhumane conditions”, he added.
Overall, around four percent of Gaza’s population have been killed, wounded or gone missing in less than three months of bombardment.
The majority of victims are children and women, according to health officials.
Israel started its military aggression against Gaza on October 7 following an operation by the territory’s resistance groups, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.
