IRGC Underlines Full Readiness to Counter Foreign-Backed Threats, Conspiracies

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) underlined safeguarding Iran’s national interests and meeting people’s needs as its clear-cut strategy, and underscored its all-out preparedness to take on any foreign threat and conspiracy that would face the country.

In a statement on Sunday, the IRGC hailed the Iranian nation’s massive turnout in rallies to mark the 44th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

It said the “enthusiastic and admirable” participation of millions of people in the rallies once again challenged the enemy’s miscalculation concerning Iranians.

It noted that safeguarding the country’s “national interests and responding to the needs of the people and the government are a definite and inescapable strategy of this revolutionary and popular institution”.

It added that the delusional enemies faced a “strategic shock” and a “humiliating defeat” following the glorious presence of the Iranian people in the rallies, particularly given the enemies’ efforts to provoke despair and prevent Iranians from attending the marches.

The IRGC forces are fully aware of the enemies’ covert and overt conspiracies aimed at making the country focus on minor issues and deflect from the people’s problems, it stressed.

The statement, however, declared that the defeat of the enemy’s strategy in this regard, commending the nation’s understanding, rationality and wisdom and vowing to proceed with efforts to serve them in various fields.

The IRGC stressed its all-round readiness to deal with the enemies’ threats and conspiracies – especially in the cognitive and hybrid warfare fields – and warned of a decisive and regretful response to any adventures and ominous fantasies.

Millions of people attended nationwide rallies on Saturday in celebration of the 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution which ended six decades of Pahlavi dictatorial rule and founded the Islamic Republic in Iran.

Iranian officials have lashed out at the Western states for their hostile policy towards Tehran during the recent unrest, and stressed that enemies’ scheme to incite insecurity and instability in the country has failed.

Protests erupted in several cities across Iran over the death of Mahsa Amini who fainted at a police station in mid-September and days later was pronounced dead at a hospital. The demonstrations soon turned violent.

An official report by Iran’s Legal Medicine Organization announced that Amini’s controversial death was caused by an illness rather than alleged blows to the head or other vital body organs.

Iranian officials blame Western countries for orchestrating the riots to destabilize the country.

The unrest has claimed the lives of dozens of people and security forces, while also allowing acts of terror and sabotage across the country. Iran’s Interior Ministry has confirmed the enemy waged a hybrid war against the country to weaken national solidarity and hinder the country’s progress, stressing that some 200 people lost their lives in the riots sparked by separatist and terrorist groups.

The US, the UK and the European Union (EU) have imposed a slew of sanctions against Iranian individuals and legal entities since the September death in police custody of an Iranian woman. Iran has returned the adversarial measures and meddlesome statements with sanctions against European, American and British officials and institutions.
