TEHRAN (Dispatches) – steelmakers produced 4,697,000 tons of steel ingot in the first two months of the current year (March 20-May 20), setting a four percent growth in comparison to the same period of last year.
Statistics showed that Iran’s steel ingot production from March 20-May 20, 2019 stood at 4,529,000 tons.
The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade expects that 28 million tons of steel ingot will be produced before the end of the current year (to end March 20, 2021).
Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) figures indicate that 2,701,000 tons of steel ingot (billet and bloom) were produced in the first two months of the current year, two percent lower than the production in the same period of last year.
ISPA said the steel ingot (including billet and bloom) produced in the first two months of the last year reached 2,762,000 tons.
1,996,000 tons of steel slab were produced in the first two months of the current year (from March 20 to May 20), showing a 13 percent increase as compared to the same period of last year.
