Top Iranian diplomat, Hamas chief hold meeting in Qatar

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and held talks with Hamas chief to discuss the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting between the top Iranian diplomat and the Hamas’ head of political bureau was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Tuesday night.

During his stay in Doha, the Iranian foreign minister is scheduled to review the latest regional developments including the situation of Palestine with the Qatari officials.

Holding talks on finding ways to cease the crisis in Gaza is also among the plans of the Doha visit.

Speaking to the reporters after meeting the Iranian foreign minister, Haniyeh said that the ongoing Zionist regime’s aggression against the people of Gaza is unprecedented.

He went on to say that the Zionist regime and its allies thought that they could destroy the Resistance, but after 75 days of the regime’s crimes and mass killings, the Resistance is still firmly present in the field and has caused heavy damage to the Zionists.

“The Palestinian nation has shown a unique resistance despite the heavy price they have paid,” Haniyeh stressed.

He also hailed the political efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the establishment of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
