Iran: Zionist Regime Will Be Punished for Criminal Act

Iran says an Israeli airstrike in Syria that martyred four people including two Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) officers will be avenged.
Syrian state media said the other two victims of Monday’s strike on Damascus were civilians.
Holding the occupying regime of Israel accountable for such attacks “is one of the main goals of the resistance (forces) in the region,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh said.
The IRGC’s website, Sepah News, identified the two officers as colonels Ehsan Karbalaipour and Morteza Saeednejad, adding that the occupying regime of Israel would “pay for this crime.” Their funerals were held on Wednesday.
Khatibzadeh strongly condemned “the criminal act that stems from the Zionist regime’s aggressive nature, occupation and terrorism”.
“The infanticide Zionist regime’s insolence and operations via its terror machine will definitely not go unpunished,” he said, noting that one of the goals of the resistance front in the region is to hold the apartheid regime accountable for its inhumane crimes.
Tel Aviv has been a key supporter of terrorist groups fighting to topple the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad since March 2011.
It keeps a significant military presence in Syria’s Golan Heights, which it uses as one of its launchpads for attacks on the Syrian soil.
The occupying regime mostly keeps quiet about its attacks on Syrian territory, which many view as a knee-jerk reaction to the Syrian government’s increasing success in confronting terrorism.
