Top IRGC Commander: No Safe Place in Occupied Territories for Zionists

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami said that there is no safe place for the Zionists in the occupied lands of Palestine, noting that the people in the West Bank are arming themselves similar to Gaza to confront the Zionist regime.

“The Zionists have no safe haven in occupied Palestine and all parts of the land are within the reach of Palestinians resistance movements’ firepower,” the top commander said in an interview with the official website of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

“When Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah is added to this equation, the conclusion is the deployment of hundreds of thousands of missiles that are pointed at the Zionist regime,” the IRGC commander stressed.

He said the occupied West Bank has been armed against the Zionist regime, adding Iran will stand by the Palestinians.

Salami stated the Zionists are not the type to stay their ground and to fight back, adding that the return of Zionists to country they came from, also known as reverse migration, is growing now.

The commander noted the Zionists are vulnerable to ground battle.

“This year, many Zionists have been killed in operations by resistance groups’ members in occupied Palestinian territories. The number of attacks by the Palestinians cannot compare with that in the past,” Maj. Gen. Salami continued.

The military chief declared that despite that the Israeli regime has closed the borders tightly, weapons are made inside the besieged territories and distributed among Palestinians.

“When something becomes homegrown, it cannot be stopped,” he maintained.

The IRGC commander reiterated Tehran will stand by Palestinians to the end.

During a meeting with Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad Palestinian resistance movement Ziad Al-Nakhalah in early August, Maj. Gen. Salami stressed that the recent developments in the occupied territories indicate the Zionist regime’s unstoppable move towards downfall.

He further said the power of the Palestinian resistance front has increased compared to the past, adding that given its vast capacities, the resistance has gained the ability to take the control of major wars.

“The course of developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the waning power of the Zionists, who are on the decline and collapsing, is a road of no return … that ends in the liberation of Al-Quds,” he continued.

“There is every indication that the Zionists are falling apart from within,” the IRGC chief said, adding that “the collapse of Israel may not even need the Palestinian resistance to engage in a war”.

Israel has recently unleashed a wave of air raids on the Gaza Strip. Forty-nine Palestinians, including 17 children and two Islamic Jihad commanders, were martyred in the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip. Hundreds of Palestinians were also wounded.

Following the assault, the Islamic Jihad fired at least 1,000 rockets toward the occupied territories. The movement called the retaliatory barrage only an “initial response” to the Israeli bloodbath, and warned that the Israeli enemy must expect a “non-stop” confrontation.

Last May, Gaza’s resistance groups fired around 4,000 rockets during Operation Sword of Al-Quds after the Tel Aviv regime initiated its last war against the coastal enclave.

Iran describes Israel as the root cause of the region’s instability, but also says Israel’s US-supported barbarity will not change the inevitable fate of the Tel Aviv regime.

Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi strongly condemned the new crime committed by Tel Aviv in the Gaza Strip, and said the Israeli regime is on a fast-track towards decline because of the resistance of the Palestinian people in the besieged enclave.

“Through its crime last night, the Zionist regime once more showed its occupationist and aggressive nature to the world,” President Rayeesi stated on Saturday.

He praised the Palestinians for standing firm in the face of Israeli atrocities, and added, “The resistance of the people of Gaza will speed up the decline of this child-killing regime.”
