Bahrain seeks to resume diplomatic ties with Iran

 The king of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said that his country seeks to restore diplomatic relations with Tehran.

The Bahraini King made the remarks in a meeting with Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, as part of his to the East Asian state.

“We seek to resume diplomatic ties with Iran as a neighbor,” he stressed.

He added that Bahrain welcomes China’s support for this effort to promote peace and stability in the region, and for working together alongside other relevant parties to promptly deal with the repercussions of the situation in Palestine, BNA reported.

Last week, Bahraini lawmaker Abdulnabi Salman said in an interview that the process of resuming relations with Iran has met with a positive response from the government and people of Bahrain, and the Bahraini parliament has also issued a statement welcoming this move.

The Bahraini MP added, “The revival of political and commercial relations between these two neighboring countries is an important issue; Because Iran is a neighboring country and we support the unity and stability of all countries in the region.”
