1st Iranian-made train joins Tehran’s metro

The first domestically-manufactured train in Iran became operational by joining Tehran’s subway system on Monday.

The first Iranian-made metro train was designed and produced by the technologists at the Jihad Daneshgahi Branch of the Tehran-based Iran University of Science & Technology, who are monitoring and supervising its operation.

The train successfully passed the technical tests and joined Tehran’s Metro network after receiving the necessary permits on Monday.

The train traveled between Sahed metro station in the south of Tehran and Parand town metro station in the southwestern suburb of the capital.
