Iranian freestyle wrestler Rahman Amouzad claimed a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships on Thursday.
He defeated Tomor-Ochiryn Tulga from Mongolia 3-1 in the final bout of the 65kg.
Ryoma Anraku from Japan and Kyrgyzstan’s Ulukbek Zholdoshbekov won two bronze medals in the weight class.
The Championships started on April 9 in Astana, Kazakhstan, and will run until April 14.
The six-day event will determine the seeds for the World Championships to be held in mid-September in Serbia. The World Championships, consequently, will serve as the qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
